The story of Colin’s jeans brand
On January 31, 2022 by Emma CollymoreThe history of jeans made by Colin’s standards began in 1983, when Turkish businessman Nurettin Eroglu and his four brothers founded a small garment factory called Eroglu Holding. Initially, the factory produced coats and down jackets, but in 1986 the first jeans were made here. This year the Kulis trademark was introduced. Production grew, and by 1992 the company was producing 1,500 pairs of jeans a day. That year the brand was renamed and renamed “Colin’s Jeans”. The first garment factory, which covered an area of 10,000 square kilometers, opened.
In 1993, the company began exporting its jeans abroad. Today, Colin’s Jeans are sold in the United States, Western and Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
The Colin’s Jeans brand has chosen the right marketing strategy from the beginning. Unlike other Turkish denim manufacturers, the Colin’s Jeans brand has not tried to copy the models of jeans of world-famous companies. Instead, the brand produced inexpensive good quality clothing and advertised its own trademark. Such a policy has contributed to the success of the brand worldwide.
By the end of the 1990s, Colin’s Jeans already had 11 stores in Turkey and 6 abroad. The brand also introduced a new more expensive line of denim called “Loft”. In 1997, the Marka & Marka headquarters and shopping center were opened in Istanbul. In line with the Marka & Marka concept, Eroglu has launched production for the world’s leading custom jeans manufacturers: Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Next, Polo, GAP, Ralph Lauren, Lee Cooper, Matalan and Liz Clairbone. A 35,000-square-kilometer factory was opened in 1998, followed by Europe’s largest denim factory, which opened in 2003 and covers an area of 45,000 square kilometers, capable of producing 17 million garments a year. In 2005, Eroglu Company Group bought one of the largest denim brands in Europe “Big Star”, strengthening its position in global markets.
Today, the company is represented in 33 countries and has more than 24,000 employees. The brand produces men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and each season presents more than 2,000 models of individual jeans for the new collection, in line with the latest world fashion trends. Colin’s represents the entire production cycle, including the design of jeans models, design, gradation of bends, tailoring, packaging and delivery of finished products to customers. Colin’s Jeans manufactory uses the most advanced processing and painting technologies.
The range includes jeans, denim jackets, shirts, skirts, vests, dresses, shorts, overalls, as well as cotton and knitwear such as tops, T-shirts, sweaters, overalls. Colin’s also continues to manufacture outerwear, coats and jackets. Children’s clothing and various accessories are also included in the company’s product palette.
The brand currently has 300 stores in Turkey and more than 1,000 abroad, making it a full-fledged competitor to the world’s leading denim brand.
